The Festival at Cheltenham is the shining jewel in Jump racing's crown. It is four days of magic, madness and magnificence, played out on a stage framed by the breathtaking vista of the Cotswold Hills.
It features a cast of the best horses, jockeys and trainers playing to an audience of 220,000, all of who are determined to have the time of their lives. For racing's professionals, victory at The Festival is how greatness is measured and how careers are defined. Set in the most famous literary town in the world, the Festival has been placed as the fifth most high profile literary festival in the UK. The festival puts together a superb selection of events running over nine days with something for everyone, organised by festival directors Annie Ashworth and Natasha Roderick-Jones. Last year’s festival featured the poet Felix Dennis, comedian Jack Dee and the writer John O’Farrell, while 2011 will feature John Humphrys, Larry Lamb and Baroness Shirley Williams amongst others.
